Krystyna Freiburger's Story

In 1940, my pregnant mom, dad and brothers were deported to Russia from their home in Poland ! Given an hour to pack, they gathered food, bedding and warm clothes. For some reason, mom threw in her wedding dress and veil. Due to hunger and disease the two youngest boys died. Mom ripped her wedding dress to wrap them before burial. The veil she carried on her journey through Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Africa, England and Canada. Her cherished veil became my treasure. Thanks to Amar, this treasure has been made into beautiful jewelry for Mom’s family.
